How to plan a day

The shape that works for most families:

  1. 10am. Waterpark at open. Quietest two hours of the day by a distance.
  2. Noon. Out on a 2-hour pass. Food at Hungry Viking, or back to the rental for lunch.
  3. Afternoon. Beach, or a nap, or nothing. Do not schedule this.
  4. 7pm. Go-karts once the heat breaks.
  5. 8:30pm. Mini golf under the lights.
  6. 10pm. Ice cream at Hershey's Island Creamery next door. Separate business, thirty steps away.

A note on the season

The waterpark runs during the summer season. Go-karts keep going into the fall after the waterpark closes for the year, and Viking Golf runs daily 9am to 11:30pm. If you are visiting in September or October, call (302) 539-1644 and we will tell you exactly what is running.

We are a family business on Route 1 and we have been doing this a long time. If you have a question this page did not answer, call us.

What is worth knowing this year

A few things that come up constantly and are worth stating plainly:

  • The waterpark sells time, not days. Two hours, and you add 2 more at the window only if you want them. Most families with young kids are done at two.
  • The go-karts are per kart. $10 covers the kart, so a parent driving a double with a kid riding is $10, not $20. People miss this constantly.
  • The multi-day is waterpark only. It does not touch golf or go-karts. We would rather you knew now.
  • The late hours are the real feature. Golf and go-karts until 11:30pm means July evenings actually work here.
  • Ages 3 and under play golf free with a paying adult. Not a discount. Free.

Where each attraction fits

If your kids are...Start with
Under 5The kiddie pool at the waterpark, then mini golf. Ages 3 and under play free.
5 to 8Waterpark. The doubles slides let a parent ride along, which is the whole game at this age.
8 to 12Waterpark and go-karts. Around 56 inches they can drive a single kart themselves.
TeenagersGo-karts at night, and mini golf later. The 11:30pm close matters here.
A wide mixWaterpark in the morning, split up in the evening. Golf and karts are next to each other.

Free parking, and why we mention it constantly

Because it is a real number. Parking on this coast in July is a daily expense that quietly adds up across a week. Ours is free, on site, every day, and it is one of the honest reasons the drive up from Ocean City makes sense.

About us

We are a family business on Route 1 in Fenwick Island. We run the only waterpark in town, the only go-kart track in town, a 19-hole mini golf course with a two-headed dragon in it, and a food stand that does a very good funnel cake.

We are not the biggest operation on this coast and we are not trying to be. If you want a wave pool and thirty attractions, Jolly Roger is six miles south in Ocean City and it is a good park. What we do is a compact place where a family with a two year old and a twelve year old can both have a decent day, park for free, and not spend four hundred dollars doing it.
